COCOON is the Philadelphia suburb’s leader in home remodeling, with a team of over 50 creative designers, skilled craftsmen, and dedicated administrators. As we enter our next growth phase, we’re looking for a Controller who’s passionate about helping us mature our financial operations and continue reimagining the remodeling experience for our customers.

Summary of Responsibilities

The Controller plays a pivotal role in managing COCOON’s Accounting/Finance Department and serves as a bridge between financial functions and the company’s strategic development. Reporting directly to the COO, this position is responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance, financial forecasting, planning, cost analysis, cash management, corporate records, and assisting with investor relations.

Essential Functions

  • Lead all accounting and finance operations, including monthly close process and project accounting
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and reporting to the executive team
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and GAAP-compliant processes
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting
  • Oversee job costing analysis and pricing strategies
  • Build and develop the accounting/finance team
  • Maintain key third-party relationships (banking, tax, audit)
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Support strategic planning and new business initiatives

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of fiscal management experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations
  • Proven experience with financial systems administration
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
