Draftsperson

As a Draftsperson, you’ll play an essential role in turning ideas into buildable realities. Working closely with our Architectural and Interior Design teams, you’ll transform design concepts into detailed, accurate construction drawings that guide every phase of our projects.

What You’ll Do

Design Development & Documentation

• Collaborate with our Architectural and Interior Design teams to prepare construction documents, including plans, selections, elevations, and details.
• Develop accurate, detailed, and high-quality drawings using Chief Architect (and AutoCAD as needed).
• Create 3D models and visualizations to support design presentations.
• Maintain and apply architectural and interior drafting standards and best practices.
• Ensure drawings comply with building codes, project specifications, and COCOON’s design standards.

Project Coordination

• Assist with field site surveys and accurately measure existing conditions for remodeling projects.
• Coordinate drawings with other disciplines (structural, MEP, cabinetry, and interiors).
• Participate in design meetings and contribute to project discussions.
• Maintain organized project documentation and drawing files.
• Support communication and collaboration between design, estimating, and production teams.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Perform quality control checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Stay current on software updates, industry trends, and building codes.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve drafting workflows and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

• 2–8 years of experience in architectural drafting, design, or a related field.
• Associate’s degree in Architectural Drafting & Design or equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in Chief Architect (AutoCAD experience a strong plus).
• Solid understanding of residential construction and remodeling.
• Working knowledge of building codes and construction document standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
• A growth mindset—eager to learn, refine your craft, and contribute to a positive team culture.
